Recently, Sprint introduced what the company’s calling the wireless industry’s first-ever “All-In” pricing plan.
The company claims that its All-In campaign counters the wireless industry’s current way of advertising by providing one monthly price for a smartphone and unlimited talk, text and high-speed data.
With All-In Wireless, the total charge per month is $80 for a smart phone with unlimited talk, text and data included.
Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure says:
“We understand how frustrating and confusing shopping for wireless can be. At Sprint, we are doing things differently. We are telling customers, ‘This is your All-In price.’ So when they walk into our store or visit our website, they will see that $80 includes a smartphone and an unlimited plan to do the most important things they are going to do with the phone for an entire month: make calls, watch videos, listen to music, text a friend – you name it.”
This new pricing plan makes the smartphone a lease instead of a purchase, because $20 per month can be cheaper than the monthly cost of owning. The remaining $60 goes towards service, not including taxes. The consumer is eligible for a new smartphone every two years.
Read the fine print, though. It says that throughput may be limited, varied, or reduced to improve the data experience of users.
Customers will pay $0 down and a one time $36 activation fee. This service is now available in all Sprint stores.
